Vanessa Fobid

Sophomore at Northeastern University, studying Computer Science. I look to hone my software skills through industry experience and personal projects. I began coding my junior year of highschool, starting with Java and continuing to learn fundamental concepts of CS as well as lower level languages such as C and x86_64.

Background

I apply CS to real-life problems I've experienced, such as carpooling efficiency and measuring moving worm movement. I also seek out ways to connect my passion for CS with other interests, like music. I have seen the two cross paths in music technology, where I learned how software can be used to create new sounds and alter existing ones. Software such as Max/MSP and Ableton Live have shown me the interdisciplinary nature of CS, and provided me with the skills to apply it in my work.
